Alain F. Dagenais, P.Eng., CExP, is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of leadership experience and business ownership.
A graduate of the University of Ottawa (B.Sc. Civil Engineering, 1977, cum laude), Alain was a long-standing member of both Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), serving each for more than 35 years. Over the course of his career, he successfully built and led an engineering and architectural practice, while also owning and operating multiple businesses, including a construction firm and a lumber & building materials retail company with 25 employees.

As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CExP) with the Business Enterprise Institute (BEI), Alain now leverages his combined experience in engineering, construction, and business ownership to guide entrepreneurs in planning successful ownership transitions. His credibility extends beyond the boardroom—he has been recognized as an expert witness in both Small Claims and Superior Courts in Ontario and Québec.
His recognized expertise has also made him a sought-after speaker. Alain has been a resident speaker for Desjardins Signature Business Transfer Virtual Conferences and the National Bank of Canada Business Transfer Conference (in French), where he shares insights with business owners and professional advisors alike. Alain has also earned the trust and credibility to be a guest speaker at the annual meeting of organisations such as Québec Order of Engineers.

Graduated from the University of Ottawa’s French Common Law Program in 1991 and was called to the Bar in 1993.
He founded the firm in November 1993 as a sole practitioner.
Having been previously licensed also as a Chartered Accountant, he practiced both as an accountant and as a lawyer until September 1997.
Denis assisted the Law Society of Upper Canada by acting as a Senior Instructor for the Estate Planning and Administration section of the Bar Admission Course, in Ottawa.
As a Chartered Accountant and lawyer, Denis is able to provide strategic business and legal advice to clients.
